Assistant professor, clinician and clinical researcher in clinical pharmacology & hepatology at the Institute of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology and at the Outpatient Office of Clinical Pharmacology & Hepatology at the Faculty of Medicine, Slovak Medical University (SMU) in Bratislava, Slovakia (SK).

Teaches pharmacology, clinical pharmacology & therapeutics, hepatology, biomedical research / clinical trials methodology, clinical research regulatory & ethics framework (SK/EU) & GCP at the undergraduate & postgraduate level, within the state accredited specialisation & certification study programmes & in continuous medical education (CME).

Research interests include chronic hepatitis, NAFLD/NASH, cholestatic, autoimmune, toxic & drug induced liver disease, research ethics and bioethics. Currently, member of the Management Committee to the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) Action CA17112 – Prospective European Drug-Induced Liver Injury Network and medical monitor in the 7th Framework Programme-HEALTH-2012-INNOVATION-1-304985 – DevelopAKUre (Clinical Development of Nitisinone for Alkaptonuria) project.

External expert evaluator for the European Commission, the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI), the COST, the State Institute for Drug Control (National Regulatory Authority), the National Health Care Surveillance Authority. Lead of the Working Group on Guidelines and Standard Procedures in Clinical Pharmacology and regional expert for Clinical pharmacology (Prešov region) at the Slovak Ministry of Health. Collaborator of the Institute of Health Care Ethics of SMU, Institute of Medical Ethics and Bioethics n. f.; executive editor, journal Medical Ethics & Bioethics. Board Member of the Slovak Society of Clinical Pharmacology (SSCP), b. o. Slovak Medical Association. Member of the EACPT Executive Committee and EACPT councillor, member of the EACPT European Network of Teachers in Pharmacotherapy (NOTIP). Member of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL).

Voluntary advisory work for the non-profit patient organisations, especially those concerning liver diseases (Hep Help Klub Slovakia; Šanca pre pečeň) as their long term designated representative at the European Liver Patient Association (ELPA) and the World Hepatitis Alliance (WHA), including leadership in ELPA/WHA patient-centred research activities in Slovakia. Member of the ELPA Scientific Committee.

Philosophiae Doctor (PhD) in Internal Medicine – Hepatology (2007); Board Certified in Clinical Pharmacology (2005) & in Clinical Trials and Good Clinical Practice (GCP, 2005) at the SMU; Medicinae Universae Doctor (MD) at the Comenius University, Bratislava, SK (1997).
