Prof Caroline Samer is the Head of the Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Therapy Unit in the Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology Department of Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) and a senior lecturer (privat-docent) at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva.

Both her clinical and teaching activities aim to promote precision medicine approaches in clinical pharmacology and therapeutics. She is furthermore a researcher at the Swiss Centre for Applied Human Toxicology (SCAHT) and  coordinating the master of advanced studies in Toxicology of the University of Geneva.

Prof Samer was the co-chair and scientific programme director of the 11th EACPT European congress held in Geneva in 2013, and she is since then an EACPT Council and Executive Committee member. She was the elected EACPT General Secretary from 2017 2019. Prof Samer is furthermore the Secretary of the Swiss Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology (SSCPT) since 2013 and the Chair of the clinical division of the international union for basic and clinical pharmacology (IUPHAR).
